final video!

New roughcut

Here is a new rough cut of our music video as we had to film some more footage. We also decided to take some footage out of the original rough cut.

NEW PLANS

We planning to film once more over half term,
with a specfic plan:

-Katie in 2 different stylish and elegant outfits,
in 2 old and rustic looking locations.

-a few angles, WHOLE SONG in each location at least once.

-possible locations: cambridge college walls, gates? some steps?

-filming against a wall presents the idea of a BARRIER which can be echoing a metaphorical barrier in the lyrics, eg emotional turmoil which needs to be overcome.

this is perfect for our song!

this idea of a barrier represented by the WALL, and the idea of the audience playing the 'friend of the singer' role in the café footage make for successful relationships between LYRICS and VISUALS in our video.

hopefully all will go well !!

we have included some animation of objects in our rough cut.
its not synced very well....yet!

we might film and include some more.

Filming

Today we filmed some shots in a cafe
they looked really good!

we also filmed some on a bridge which was not so good
and some stuff in a park which was okish! but not brilliant!
thats about it so far

FILMING

...was quite bad really!
some shots were usable, and shall be salvaged, but much more work is needed to be done.
good points:
+ firestation location and apparel
+ bus footage
+ bench footage
+ use of tripod

bad points:
- baad camera work when not on tripod
- lighting
- dining room props and lighting
- oddly planned narrative XD
-terrible transitions...
- WEATHER

PLAN OF ACTION:

Less camera movement + better framing and lighting + more locations with DECENT props

FILMING YET TO DO:

REDO dining room scene more like this,

a STABLE shot, showing the empty space at the table in the foreground, with a focus on girl acting impatient and looking at her watch. here is another dining room as inspiration, although we are not aiming for something as elaborate, obviously..


LIBRARY
a bit like this:


focusing on completely DIVERSE locations and looks, other POSSIBLE/reasonably easy scenes may include:
* inside a green house, with gloves, hat, and watering can.
* NEAR some punts.
* in a starbucks uniform (media studio? CANTEEN?!)
* near some buses
* near some trains?!
* in different rooms at college - art room, at a computer etc
* infront of a graffitied wall
* at the market
* next to kings college?

if we can do AS MANY AS POSSIBLE around cambridge with just one run through of the song, that would be great.
